id be pissed. hes not worth that. alot of guys take a little discount to stay with their team. we need some of these guys. it seems like edmonton has such an inferiority complex that when any player wants to stay, we jump for joy and overpay.

i think 3.5 should be ceiling and it would be reasonably fair.
and rather 3 years, but if its gotta be 4, fine.

According to a report in the Edmonton Sun, defenceman Ladislav Smid is close to signing a contract extension with the Edmonton Oilers.

The extension is reported to be for four years that could total around $16 million.

gorges is around the same age as smid. he is at $3.9m per. volchenkov is the high end $4.25m per. girardi is $3.325m per. i would say he's somewhere around $3.3-$3.9m i'd be happy at $3.5m per 3yr term.

Those double downs are probably what does it.

i like the way petrells been playing recently. that 4th line has been great for us.

i suppose trying lander in in the pivot wouldnt hurt. but i have no problem with petrell and brown on the wings on that line going into next year
